At Banowetz Antiques, we do more than just sell furniture! One of our specialties is customizing and restoring antique furniture to suit your needs. On this page are a few examples of what we can do. King and Queen Size Beds - Antique beds were very rarely larger than full-size. We can take your 3/4 or full-size bed and modify it to hold queen or even king-size mattresses. This work typically includes extending or replacing the rails and widening the footboard and headboard. Our craftsmen do excellent work - often our customers can't even tell where the modifications were made until we point them out! Shown here is a Victorian Walnut bed which we have customized to fit a king-size mattress. If you look closely you can see where we added width to the piece at the right and left-hand sides of the headboard and footboard. Click on each photo to see a larger image. 
Furniture Restoration - We can take your painted, scratched, damaged, or otherwise poor-condition pieces and make them look amazing again! We can do anything from a simple finish restoration to a complete repair and refinish. Shown here is a pine harvest table we have restored. The first photo shows the table in as-found condition. The second photo shows the table after being stripped and repaired (see the difference in the table top). Finally we have the finished piece in the last photo.
